Born on February 19, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Ronk received her B.A. in English from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1968. She taught at Tufts University (1967-1971), and currently teaches at Occidental College. Ronk founded Littoral Books with writers Paul Vangelisti and Dennis Phillips in 1990; co-edited the journal The New Review of Literature.
